Master’s of Public Health Coursework – Health Policy and Management, Epidemiology
My graduate education for my Master’s of Public Health, focused on deepening my understanding of issues impacting my community and intervention paths that could have lasting impacts on all communities. This further refined into helping overlooked communities, from minorities to rural populations, as my degree progressed. I had the honor of being one of 12 University of Tennessee graduate students, faculty and leaders selected to an intensive on responsible community-based research called the Community Engagement Academy. There, I was able to refine my research skills and collaborate with some of the best researchers UT has. This was a wonderful opportunity as the University of Tennessee is an R1 institution and one of 38 “community-engaged” institutions, as classified by the Carnegie Foundation. The program I was able to develop as part of this work is being evaluated by partner organizations, and I hope to implement it soon. Additionally, I was an awarded finalist for the University of Tennessee’s 3 Minute Thesis Competition in Fall of 2024, when discussing my work in reducing food insecurity in rural Tennessee.
Here are some representative work samples from my Masters program.
