As I shared earlier, I love Thanksgiving. I really do. I love the food, the family, the atmosphere – all of it. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is that there are no distractions. You can be fully mentally present at this meal. This meal doesn’t have the apprehension and excitement about gifts or upcoming activities that can distract from other holiday meals, no. This holiday is only about those who surround your table. The uniqueness of Thanksgiving is one of the best parts about the holiday for me, and something I have cherished more and more as time passes.
I am not sure about your family, but for mine, Thanksgiving is also the kick-off event for the winter holiday season. Since my family and I celebrate Christmas, we decorate for the holiday the day after Thanksgiving – stringing lights and setting up trees all throughout our home!
