Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, from my family to yours! I am so grateful for all the blessings in my life. For me, Thanksgiving serves as a wonderful reminder to pause, take stock of my blessings, and connect with family before we enter the Advent season.

As a grad student who’s working full time, I’m often busy and overlook the simple joys and everyday miracles that grace my life. Thanksgiving provides an opportunity for me to be intentional in cultivating an attitude of gratitude throughout the season, actively searching for the good things in my life, no matter how small – whether it’s the warmth of loved ones, the beauty of nature, or the simple pleasure of a well-made cup of coffee. This season always reminds me how just taking the time to appreciate these blessings can significantly impact overall well-being and mental health.

I also like to use this season to reach out to the people in my life that I’m grateful for. From my family and friends to colleagues and mentors, I have many individuals who have contributed to my growth and happiness. Reaching out to these people to let them know how impactful they have been over the last year, always provides a chance to strengthen bonds and foster a deeper sense of connection.

As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, let us not only savor the delicious feast but also cherish the opportunity to express gratitude for the blessings that fill our lives. My hope is that this spirit of gratitude extends far beyond this holiday season, shaping our perspectives and enriching our experiences throughout the year.
